The Franklin Pease Memorial Prize is given to the most outstanding essay published in CLAR<\/em> over a period of two years. It was created in 2000 in memory of Peruvian historian Franklin Pease G. Y. (1939 – 1999) a founding member of the journal with many contributions to the field.
