For Authors
Original essays should be sent to CLAR’s General Editor, Professor Dana Leibsohn (dleibsoh@smith.edu) in the form of a Word (.docx) document.
All manuscripts should include an abstract of ca. 100-150 words, 5-7 keywords, and an author biography of ca. 100-150 words.
Style/Formatting
Since CLAR is an international and interdisciplinary journal, it follows a hybrid Modern Language Association style sheet. Here is a sample article for guidance: download. All articles that appear in CLAR must pas through double, anonymous peer review; this includes Commentaries and essays in Special Issues.
Images:
Authors are responsible for obtaining appropriate permissions to publish images. For the initial consideration of a manuscript or essay small-scale images are acceptable. For publication, the specifications can be found here.
Word Limit:
Essays should not exceed 13,000 words total, including notes and references.
